Triangle Dental Code of Good Practice

In our practice we

• Justify the trust you have placed in us

• Listen to your views and learn from them

• Communicate with you in a courteous, friendly, professional manner

• Provide you with the standard of care that we would expect to receive ourselves 

• Make sure that you receive full information about our services, your treatment, and its cost  

• Provide advice and treatment outside normal surgery hours where necessary 

• Stand by the promises we make 

• Refer you for further professional advice and treatment where appropriate and advise you of the probable costs

• Are committed to ensuring that we keep our professional skills and knowledge up to date. 

In our practice we will

• Do our best to maintain your dental health 

• Respect confidentiality at all times  

• Do our best to run to time. We will let you know if we run late and will offer to re-book the appointment if this is more convenient to you  

• Deal with every telephone call promptly – you will not be asked to ‘hold’ without first finding out why you have telephoned us 

• Provide you with a treatment plan and estimate of costs for each new course of treatment. No treatment will be undertaken without your full and specific consent  

• Make you aware of our policy for collecting fees. Requests for payment will always be made courteously 

• Explain the practice policy for dealing with complaints. We will investigate complaints sympathetically and according to the agreed procedures  

• Provide the highest standards of infection control 

• Provide any emergency treatment required during practice hours as soon as is reasonably practicable. If you are in pain we will offer you an appointment within 24 hours. Outside normal practice hours, we operate an emergency rota and details are details are displayed at the practice entrance and recorded on the telephone answering machine. This information will be correct at all times

• Maintain a list of patients who would like to be seen sooner than their scheduled appointment and are willing to be seen at short notice in the event of a cancellation. 

In return we would like you to

• Treat our staff courteously; they will do their best to help meet your needs  

• Participate in your dental treatment, particularly any preventive and dietary advice that you receive where we have asked you to continue it at home – for example modifying your sugar intake, flossing etc  

• Arrive on time for your appointment. Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. We will charge for missed appointments where we have not been notified; the scale of charges is displayed at reception.
